1. How can I make the payment of GST?

GST is to be paid at the time of filing GSTR3B online through net banking, over the counter, NEFT/RTGS.

2. What is the due date of payment of GST?

For the regular taxpayer , last date of GST deposit is 20th of next month.

For Composite taxpayers, last date of GST deposit is 18th of next month.

3. Can I make GST payment offline?

You can make offline GST payments upto Rs.10000.

4. What are the online modes available for GST payment?

Following are the online modes to pay GST from some authorized banks

  1. From Net banking
  2. From NEFT /RTGS
  3. Over the counter on few banks

5. Can I pay GST through credit cards?

No you cannot pay GST through credit card or debit card, you can pay through net banking, NEFT/RTGS or OTC upto 10000.

6. Can I pay GST through debit cards?

No you cannot pay GST through debit card or credit card, you can pay through net banking, NEFT/RTGS or OTC upto 10000.

7. Can I pay GST through Wallets?

No you cannot pay GST through any wallets,debit card or credit card, you can pay through net banking, NEFT/RTGS or OTC upto 10000.

8. What is the procedure to pay online GST?

Following are the steps to make the online payment of GST

  1. Login to the GST portal
  2. Go to Payment in Services
  3. Click on create challan
  4. Fill up the breakup of IGST, CGST, SGST tax, interest, penalty, fees & other dues
  5. Choose payment mode out of netbanking, OTC or NEFT/RTGS
  6. If through netbanking choose netbanking
  7. Select bank & generate challan
  8. Pay the challan with bank login credentials.

   

9. How to pay GST if I do not have net banking ?

You can pay GST over the counter on few designated banks upto 10000, you can pay offline GST through cash, DD or cheque.

10. How to generate challan for offline GST payment?

For making offline GST payment following are the steps:

  1. Go to GST login
  2. Go to payments in services
  3. Choose create challan
  4. Fill GST amount breakup of CGST/SGST/IGST
  5. Fill GST amount breakup as basic, interest, penalty etc.
  6. Choose OTC (Over the counter)
  7. Choose bank & click on create challan
  8. A challan will be created along with CPIN No.
  9. This printed challan should be submitted to bank along with cheque/cash/dd
  10. Bank will deposit GST and will provide CIN no.

11. For making offline GST payment can I give cheque?

Yes you can make Offline GST payment through cash, DD or cheque.

12. What is CPIN in GST?

CPIN is a common portal identification number which is 14 digit unique challan no which is generated while creating online challan from GST portal.

     

13. What is the validity of CPIN in GST?

CPIN is valid for 15 days from the date of its generation for payment of GST.

14. How to obtain CPIN for GST payment?

CPIN in GST can be generated through creating online challan at GST portal.

15. What is the use of CPIN in GST?

CPIN is used for both online and offline payments, also CPIN is used to track payment status of GST Challan.

17. Can I pay IGST CGST & SGST in the same challan?

Yes you can pay IGST CGST & SGST in the same challan, while creating challan you need to input breakup of tax into IGST, CGST & SGST.

18. By mistake I paid CGST in challan instead of IGST, what can I do?

You can adjust this amount against your CGST liability in future or can cliam refund of it but you cannot adjust GST payment made in CGST against IGST.

19. Can I change the challan once paid?

No, you cannot change the challan once paid, you can either adjust its amount against future liabilities or can claim refund.

20. What is the difference with CIN & CPIN?

CIN is the challan identification no, which is generated at the time of final payment of challan & CPIN is common portal identification no. which is generated at the time of creating online challan with tax amount breakup.

21. Is there any timing for online GST payment?

No there is no timing, you can pay GST throughout 24 hours on all days but in some banks if you pay within working hours, challan is generated immediately, otherwise your tax would be paid but challan will generate on next day.
