1. ‘Comfort’: Yes, right. You think that life is comfortable now. This comfort is your biggest hurdle in your exit from this job or in other words this comfort is playing the role of a catalyst in making you a job worm.

Over a period of more than ten years, you have lifted yourself up to a particular designation and you are earning a handsome package with countable perks. And you are now becoming an addict of that designation and package or in fact, you have become a slave to that designation and package.

This designation and package is nothing but an illusion. One fine day someone will replace you. And at that time, you will have nothing to do. So you have to come out of this comfort.

2. I can’t afford it:

Your mindset is everything. What is mindset? Mindset is your thought process.

Why do you need to exit from job?

Your job career was just a part of your journey, not the destination. Job was needed because you needed a base, a foundation to make your career. You will understand the reason behind exiting from your job by reading this:

What you need is confidence only. Your confidence and your self-belief is the key to success.

2. More competition in jobs: You might be unaware but this is a fact that there is tough competition in the job market as compared to business. That is because there is a scarcity of people who are willing to run a business themselves and on the other hand, there are plenty of people in queue for a job. For a single job, there are thousands of applicants.

So, competition in job is more tough than business.

3. Manifold growth: Job was good at initial level when you did not have any base, any capital but now at this level, you have everything like capital, house, savings and more importantly one growing side business.

What you need is just a mindset to come out of your own comfort zone.

In job, you will get more or less fixed increment mostly in single digit or max in the range of 6 to 12%, but in business, there are ample opportunities of growth. You can add multiplier factor in your growth by doing hard work.

No doubt, in business there is a huge risk also. Not everyone is successful in business. Many people have booked a heavy loss in business. It’s true. No one can deny this. There is a huge risk in business but who says that there is no risk in a job. One fine day, the management may say you that you are not needed anymore. Or any pandemic like COVID-19 may swallow your job in the blink of an eye.

The reason behind moving to a business is that you have prepared yourself with that perspective from the very first day of your career. And you have designed your path very beautifully according to that.

So, move ahead in the right direction. It’s the right time to add the multiplier factor to your developing business in the form of your side hustle which has now grown as a very successful business.

4. Lion of a circus vs. lion of a jungle: Difference between an employee and an entrepreneur is the same as that between the lion of a circus and the lion of a jungle.

An employee is like a lion of circus who has power, capability, attitude and action but he has very limited area (the ring of the circus) and there too, he has to perform on the instructions of others. Any deviation or extra effort, nothing is allowed. But at the end of the day, he is comfortable because he is getting his livelihood without much efforts and that is fixed like salary, no risk at all.

On the other side, an entrepreneur is like the lion of a jungle. He can use his power, capability and action to do anything he wants to do. He can do experiments, he can take risks and he doesn’t need instructions from anyone to perform his duties. His life is not comfortable because he has to take risks and nothing is fixed like salary. But he doesn’t need to follow instructions of others or to keep any of his actions limited to a ring only.

Which lion you want to be is totally your choice.

5. Responsibility for younger generation: When you are living in a society, your first responsibility is for that society, then for your family and then for yourself.

You have lived a wonderful career of more than a decade in job. What will happen if you remain stuck to this job for 25 to 30 years? None of your subordinates will get a chance. So when you will exit, there will be two-fold benefit to the society:

When you will exit from your job, you will create a space for your subordinates and your subordinates will be promoted at this space. When you will vacate your seat, then one space will be created at lower end also because someone has taken your seat, so the younger generation will get a chance to grow.
And second thing is that you are not leaving your job due to any negative happening, but because you are now willing to grow your business i.e. your side hustle. In fact, this is not a side hustle now but a full-fledged business.

And when you will run a business, it’s sure that you will give employment to some people, which is a great contribution to the society.
