Title: Finance Manager – Customer Operations & Business Transformation

JOB PURPOSE

To remain competitive as Unilever we need to make our operations future fit, and we need to be able to respond to Unilever changing from operating in a linear model to an agile model. We are doing this through the Future-Fit Operations programme which UniOps is driving on behalf of Unilever as a major key enabler for Fuel for Growth.

Future-Fit Operations is about being experience led and putting the needs of our consumers, customers, employees and suppliers at the heart of what we do, removing functional silos that stop us working together on the outcome the business needs, maximising the impact of technology and creating the capacity the business needs to focus on growth. Future-Fit Operations focuses on five aspects of Unilever’s operations – all connected and interdependent – and all supported by Information & Analytics - One of the journeys is our “Integrated Operations/ iOps” journey. The re-wiring of our processes, technology and organisation across this critical set of activities gives us an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate complexity and reduce duplication with the primary objective of improving customer service and unlocking capacity to drive growth.

Unilever Supply Services (USS) is the current organisational unit leading services in the Supply Chain across Unilever. USS covers a variety of services such as Order to Cash, Planning and Logistics and is experiencing a period of rapid and strategic change as scope is expanded both in terms of Geography and coverage. The team has the task of building these into a coordinated global service, whilst extracting value and driving service improvement and cost saving through working with in-house and third-party service providers.

The UniOps - Global Business Transformation – finance team is looking for a finance manager to help transform what was previously Supply Services to a new Customer Operations organisation via the iOPS Transformation journey.. The scope of the role is truly global in nature and provides an excellent experience in driving value at scale across Unilever through dramatically reducing the time and effort required of in-market teams to perform operational and internally focussed activities thereby releasing trapped capacity to focus on growth in the markets.

The role is responsible for both short and long-term performance planning and review and will cover the full range of performance activities, leveraging the information sets provided by the FET to forecast and drive gap closing discussions as well as driving interventions to unlock value.

As a learning experience, this job gives a detailed understanding of the operational processes underpinning Unilever’s interactions with customers whilst at the same time providing exposure to the digital capabilities used to unlock efficiencies. Due to the complex stakeholder map this role will also require and further build strong stakeholder management skills within UniOps and across Unilever.

Furthermore the role is fully accountable to manage and control the global iOps restructuring budget (Consultancy, PMO roles, Third Party Services etc).

The role is reporting into the Senior Finance Manager – Performance Managemet iOps and does have 1 direct report.
